4 Month Bump Update

Forever 21 Dress/Bracelet was a gift/Name necklace from Etsy

I reached the four month mark last week and I just can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is going already. I’m sure once the weather begins to warm up and all the exciting things we have going on this summer are underway (Finding a new place to live, moving, exploring our new city, Nate’s 30th and starting his residency, etc.) time will start to whip by even faster. I am doing a weekly pregnancy diary to have for myself, but I think that is painfully boring for everyone to read that isn’t me, so here I am just going to do an update once a month about how my pregnancy is going.

How far along: 18 Weeks

Baby’s size: Sweet Potato (5.5 inches long head to bottom)

Symptoms: I have to say, I am feeling great this month. I can’t even think of a symptom that I’m experiencing off of the top of my head. Maybe some growing pains here and there and I’m still falling asleep pretty early every night, but that’s about it. I hear this is the honeymoon period of pregnancy and I am enjoying it immensely!

Food Cravings: I haven’t experienced any of that “I need [insert random food item] right now” level of cravings. But, I do have a particular fondness for anything with meatballs and I’m more likely to want my fave coconut milk ice cream for dessert than any other sweet treat.

Food Aversions: I can’t think of anything more unappealing than fish, besides unusual meats but things like liver gross me out when I’m not pregnant. Chicken hasn’t been high on my list either, but that depends on the day.

Wearing: My favorite thing to wear this month is my beband over my unbuttoned non-maternity jeans and these amaze maternity leggings (thanks Aunt Kate and Carolyn!!). I also have these pants from Old Navy to wear to work and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Besides that I’m wearing a lot of my normal clothes still.

Best moments: I am noticing real movement this week and aside from feeling totally freaky, it’s really really cool.

Worst moments: My little baby bump still looks like a post-thanksgiving-dinner food baby to some. I’m excited to really “pop” and look noticeably pregnant to the rest of the world. Although I should be happy to still fit in most of my normal clothes.

Looking forward to: Learning the gender in the next couple of weeks!

Missing: Even though I’m over 4 months caffeine sober, I still find myself dreaming of a piping hot cup of Detroit Bold (my favorite). I have tried to get into herbal tea, but it’s just not the same!
