How far along: 34 Weeks

Baby’s Size: Savoy Cabbage (Around 18 inches, 5 pounds)

Symptoms: Totes swelling on hot days, lots of Braxton Hicks, a little nausea that is very reminiscent of the first trimester, and lots of happy dreams about my little boy! His kicking is pretty intense too and he loves to become particularly violent as soon as I lay down in bed at night. That plus not being able to comfortably sleep on my back at all has made my sleep kind of sucky. When I really think back though, I think I’ve been pretty lucky in the pregnancy symptoms department and I can totally handle these symptoms for the last several weeks.

Food Cravings: Fruit and orange juice. I’m loving cherries, cantaloupe, watermelon, apples, and berries. Orange juice was a big craving for me in the first trimester and it’s funny how it’s come back again.

Food Aversions: Fish (as usual), some veggies like zucchini and cauliflower randomly gross me out right now.

Wearing: Stretchy bodycon dresses are my absolute favorite thing. I’m also wearing these super comfy leggings on cooler days.

Best moments: My baby shower and finishing the nursery! My family and friends were so generous to gift us some much needed baby gear and I really feel ready for this baby now. I’ve been in major nesting mode and I have the nursery completely set up with every single onesie, blanket, wash cloth, and pacifier washed and ready!

Worst moments: The swelling that comes with hot/humid days is getting old. I don’t feel so cute when my hands and feet are puffing out. And my sleep has become really crappy. I wake up all the time to change positions because I’m uncomfortable.

Looking Forward to: Reaching full term! It’s debatable when that actually is. Some sources say 37 weeks, some say 39, so I’m going to go with 38. I’m just excited to reach that point when the baby is developed, ready for the outside world, and could arrive at any point. I’m getting so excited to meet this little boy!

Missing: I miss getting out of bed or off the couch without having to roll myself off…ha! I’ve also decided that I want my first post-pregnancy meal to be a cold cut sandwich.
