They say that always having something to look forward to can make the ground-hog days of work, clean, kids, gym, errands, repeat more pleasant. Well my husband and I are overachievers I guess because we have so much to look forward to in April that I have a countdown app on my phone with multiple dates set. Since 2015, 2016, and 2017 were full of big changes, traveling, and a lot of adjustment overall, we vowed for 2018 to be more chill, but already that isn’t the case! Maybe there’s hope for 2019. Here is what we have in the works that I am excited about:
Buying Our 1st House
{The New House in it’s “staged” glory}
We starting looking at homes in January, found a place that is a great fit for our little clan, and now we are finally getting the keys next week! I am so excited to say we are buying our first house!! It’s adorable and I can’t wait to get settled. It’s totally move in ready, but we want to re-stain the hardwood floors and paint a couple of rooms, so we aren’t officially moving in until mid-April. I am pumped to get started on our updates so moving in is just that much closer. Those touches are going to make it so much more “ours”. I plan to post updates once we get started. Oh by the way I can’t wait to host a housewarming party!!
Florida Trip
{From my first trip to Clearwater}
Nate has a week off in April and before we knew we were going to buy a house and move that month, we had talked about going on our first family vacation with Clifford during his break. We discussed New York at first because I’ll have withdrawals if I don’t make it back there again soon, but that was before winter hit and now we are desperate for some SAND and SUN! So we ended up booking a trip to Clearwater, FL – another one of my favorite places. I went in April 2015 for a weekend and absolutely fell in love with the barrier island. There is beach, nightlife, amazing restaurants, sugary sand, warm water, and a relaxed island vibe that I love. I have been dying to go back and I just know Nate is going to LOVE it. I’m so glad he agreed to go somewhere I’ve already been. We knew we wanted to go to FL and since it’s our first trip with Clifford tagging along, we felt better going somewhere where we knew what to expect.
So that’s what’s up next month. Yea, it’s a little crazy to be buying a house, moving, and going on our first vacation with baby all in a 31 day period. But that’s how Nate and I roll. Our life together has always been a little crazy. From getting engaged after 3 months of dating, to getting pregnant 1 week before our wedding, to having a baby 2 months after moving states and changing jobs. Traditional timing just isn’t our thing I guess, what can I say! 🙂
